He is RISEN!
I know it is Good Friday, but Easter Sunday is coming!
Thankfully, I found yet another of the church banners I created back in the early 80’s for the church we were members of at the time: First Baptist Church of Savoy, in Savoy, IL.
This banner was created with really just combining cotton quilting fabrics backed with Steam a Seam 2 (fusible web with paper on both sides) on the same off-white wool crepe as the ‘He Did This For You’ banner – so they would look good hanging together. The gold is the wonderful Quick Bias Tape from Clover. SUPER simple – and for a banner, doesn’t even need to be stitched.
I know it does not show real well, but behind the CHRIST letters at the bottom, and extending up into the cross is a tone on tone purple cotton fabric, which - to me - denotes Kingship of our Lord, Jesus.
I encourage you to use your sewing skills to create inspirational banners for YOUR place of worship. Be creative – in the same spirit that God created you! Perhaps NOW is the time to be thinking about Christmas Banners?
